Puchi Puchi: the bubble wrap simulator

How excited I get every time my husband gets a parcel in the post. Okay, I’ve finally outgrown my natural instinct to think the mystery box might contain exciting and unexpected presents from mystery givers, but I still know there’s something in it for me: the bubble wrap. How I enjoy relaxing over the satisfying squeeze and pop of those little plastic bubbles. What sensory pleasure it is…until the moment when my husband realizes my act of destruction and protests, “Don’t – I might need to take it back!”

He really ought to get me one of these. It’s a keyring from Bandai which simulates the feel and sound of popping bubble wrap on eight regenerating bubble buttons. It even has bonus sounds like a barking dog or a door chime every so often, to add a little spice. Is it the same? Well, I doubt it – what would happen if I tried the old ‘wringing out’ technique on it, for example? And where’s the satisfaction of looking for that last un-popped bubble among all the dead ones?
