Navman and TomTom do the same thing on the same day - iUpdata and TomTom Map Share

211_overview_uk.jpg
They must be blushing into their maps right now - it seems TomTom and NavMan have both chosen today to announce new capabilities to adjust maps with new data yourself - complete coincidence, we're sure.

Both have recognised that it's impossible to keep their maps completely up-to-date, so are handing responsibility back to you. Navman have created a website, iUpdata, where you can submit your changes to be checked by one of their mapping experts (fun job!). You then get to see the changes reflected in the next set of maps you buy.

In contrast, TomTom let you make the changes on the device itself, and you even receive changes that others make on your device. It works with their new TomTom GO 520* and TomTom GO 720. With over 10 million TomTom users, that's a lot of improvements, so luckily you can choose to receive all updates, or only those verified by those TomTom map-monkeys.
