For years all we could affix to our faces were long, black, spider-leg false lashes, but advancements in adhesives (in not rotting or burning your skin, and in being strong but being able to be dissolved easily) have resulted in spray-on bandages, plastic blood, and eyelash wig bars. The eyelashes are mostly hand made from feathers, and cost between £6 and £25. The result is looking like a cross between Hello Kitty and an anime chick, which, considering, isn't that surprising -- though with those both being cartoon characters, they may not worry about being able to see well enough to drive a car.
