I'm a little nervous to write this, accidentally mess up my facts, anger the blogosphere and, in turn, pull Shiny Media down to crash and burn with me. So, I'll tread lightly, as I do love Engagdget as much as Kentucky loves fried chicken. (A lot, people. A! Lot!) According to Wired's Gadget Lab, Engadget received an internal Apple email from a *source* which said there would be delays for both the iPhone (October) and Leopard (January). Apparently this supposed "internal email" wasn't genuine, and this post single handedly caused Apple's market value to drop $4 billion until Apple sent out a real email to correct the situation. Apple is, of course, a teeny bit upset.
I'm sure everything will work out, and that one day they'll go out for a few pints and a laugh about the whole thing. Maybe some day. Maybe, like, in a few years or something. Hang in there Engadget, you'll be okay.
