You Get It Back is a trust-based initiative that lets you tag your electronic valuables in the hope that some honest person will find them down the back of the pub sofa and actually return them.
Having registered, as soon as you know you've misplaced your phone or PDA you can activate it. When some well-meaning folk come across your precious gadgetry, they find the You Get It Back screen splashed all over it. The site claims that 65-75% of people will actually go to the trouble of contacting the site and returning your belongings.
I can't decide whether I want people to start using this because it will generate a new-found belief in the honesty of London humanity or because it'll prove a point about how little honesty there actually is... Who volunteers to lose their stuff first?
You Get It Back will attempt to protect an MP3 Player for three years at £6.99.
