Wouldn't it be fabulous if everyone adored you so much that you had to have your own brand? And not only did you have your own brand, but your minions were like, "Hey, we need a logo for this brand, this brand of YOU. What should we do? Should we use Comic Sans? Century Gothic? Arial?" And then after much contemplation, they just said, "Screw this, we'll just make you your own font!"
This is what it's like to be Kate Moss. Peter Saville, in collaboration with typographer Paul Barnes, couldn't find a typeface they liked enough for her brand, so they simply created Kate her own damn font. At first they wanted to use Kate's handwriting, but didn't like the way "Moss" looked. So, they dashed off to do typeface research and finally decided to go with a take-off one of a fonts that was created by the legendary art director of Harper’s Bazaar from 1934-58, Alexey Brodovitch. *Sigh* Now she really does have it all.
