I sometimes wonder how in the world we all managed to get by without gadgets. Take the 15 minute train ride between London and Heathrow airport, for instance. It used to be that a good book would suffice in this entertainment-free zone (back then this was all fields), but now the thought of a 15 minute window without access to the Internet is so inconceivable to so many that the good people at T-Mobile and Nomad Digital have seen fit to install Wi-Fi on the trains.
Using Wi-MAX technology to provide 8mb/second connection speeds throughout the journey - including the 6kms of it that's underground, it's the first time Wi-MAX has been used underground anywhere in the world. Now, doesn't that make your trip to the airport just a little bit more palatable?
