A new web application called Tabber keeps you *updated* with what's going on with your friends online. So, on Tabber, you either create or import contacts, and then add whatever websites they use to their information, and you'll get a nifty little update whenever they've updated. Kind of like an RSS feed for a person, no? Basically, if you were to add your BFF Sarah into Tabber, you can add her Myspace page, Facebook profile, Vox blog, Flickr photos, and her del.icio.us and Digg usernames. If Sarah updates anything, you'll be the first to know. Sounds like a really easy way to keep "tabs" on your friends, yeah?
However, because I'm a cyncial beast, I see Tabber as a Stalker's gift from God. Sure it seems innocent: your friends just love your blogs, and want to keep track of everything you write online...ever! But I worry that Blog Stalkers and lurkers will use this as an obsessive way to see if their online friends are avoiding them, or if their object of obsession has updated their blog with a new article they can print out and add to their Love Shrine.
