Though less sexy than most pool boys, the Aquabot and Aquajet robot pool cleaners from iRobot are, at $799 and $1,199, probably cheaper and better for your marital sanity in the long run. Each can clean a 20x50 pool in an hour to an hour and a half. The 300 uses jets, and the 600 uses brushes, so while the former gets it sanitary, the latter gets it sparklier. Since pools have pretty regular shapes and there aren't roving pets or piles of books, the AI is a lot simpler. [GT]
