Student George Watson of Northumbria University has got his career off to a good start with the award winning Glide toaster that beat off 5000 other hopefuls. Yes that's a toaster. A fab new toaster, in fact, that is designed to bring families back to the breakfast table with a toaster that is a social focal point as well as rather nice to look at. The idea is you pass the bread through the heating plates and toast will pop out into the rack. Watson has already been approached by manufacturers so there's a strong chance we'll see this toaster on the market.
