This pocket printer looks set to solve the problem we all deny exists in digital photography. It’s just not the same, is it, a screen? We like to be able to hold it, stick it in a book, pass them round the room, wedge it in the side of the mirror. However easy it is to upload them and order prints, do we ever? Instead, we just share our photos with fellow office-job friends and anyone who doesn’t sit wired up to the net all day long misses out.
Here we have a solution! All the advantages of digital with the ability to produce real live photos. (Well, not live, obviously, we’re still a technological while away from that, unless you studied at Hogwards perhaps.)
Anyway, I digress. The point is that this is a really good mobile printer which fits in your pocket and prints business card sized (3x2in) pictures on photo paper or stickyback paper. It connects either wirelessly or with a USB cable directly to any camera phone or digital camera. Compatible with all Pictbridge enabled cameras and Bluetooth enabled phones, the only downside is that you have to use Zink’s own paper. Well, if you’re already going to the shop to buy the printer…
And it has no ink! (Zero ink – zink – geddit?) How on earth does that work? Perhaps it really does come from Harry Potterland…
