Perhaps you resist going buckwild over every Apple announcement, but would still like technological innovation in your home. Welcome to Lifebox TV. It's a media storage hard drive that hooks up to your television, with results similar to the much talked about Apple TV. Lifebox supports a variety of audio files and a plethora of movie formats. It also doubles as an external hard drive. With storage capacities from 160GB to 500GB, that's a whole lotta media goin' on.

Anyone got one of these? Seems a good price now but can't find any reviews of it on t'Internet.
I have 250gb lifebox it works great with one exception.
Approximately 80% of the movie files work great. The rest appear as empty files when connected to the TV, yet when Lifebox is connected to the computer all the files are there.
All movies were copied and transfered in the same format. it has no beraing in sequence that they were put on the lifebox.
Has any one out there got the solution????
Bought the LifeBox 250G and I was very happy until I copied more filed and created more folders. Movies started disappearing from the TV mode listing some empty folders which in PC mode are full with files. Some files are 'crossed', e.g. movie A plays movie B from half way through while movie B is notlisted in TV mode.
It is definitely a firmware problem and I will seriously regret if Maplin and their providers don't come up with a fix.
Excluding the problems above, it is a great box, with good price. Has decluttered the TV area and my 4 yr old son has learned to use it (needs help with reading some titles though).
I will write an update as soon as I have a response from Maplin's Technical Assiatance.
Has any body got any updates on this problem. I know there is Firmware out there ( Welland ) but I am extremly reluctant to try it. Has any body tried partitioning the drive ( 250 G ) into 150 readable and 100 storage ???
Cheers

I solved the problem by creating a NEW folder and copying the "invisible" files into it! hey presto they all appear again! After doing that I simply deleted the "faulty" folder and renamed the NEW one to suit..
I have my files in unique folders ie. Movies/ Action, Comedy, Horror etc... this makes it easier to manage and to deal with the above problem when it occurs as the issue seems to be localised to only one or two folders when it does happen.
Other than that I have no issues with the device.. it is really cool! Good value... Though actually cheaper on eBay that Maplin!
there is a new firmware on the maplins site and i have used it on my 500 gig lifebox. it seems to have fixed the majority of the issues experienced with these units (hope this helps)
i have updated my lifebox using the firmware on the maplins website and it fixed the majority of the issues i have been experiencing with the unit (hope this helps anyone else with this unit).
