This may look like a picture of the most boring, orthopaedic, granny-like pair of shoes imaginable. And to some extent, that is true. If there were no more to them than meets the eye, they certainly wouldn’t adorn my feet unless perhaps I was in the later stages of pregnancy, or on holiday far, far away from civilisation.
However, a closer look reveals a little on-off switch at the side – the kind you might find on a voltmeter or some other technical equipment. Redeeming feature? Not so far. What does it do? It makes the shoe vibrate! Oooh, lovely on my little tootsies at the end of a long day’s shopping.
One hour charging provides five hours of foot massage, designed to avoid the itching common to massaging units by using high frequency vibration. Although not recommended for long walks or vigorous exercise, you can walk around in them a bit, and they come in a handy travel bag so you can switch to them when your regular shoes start to ache.
So do I like these comfort-shoes enough to wear them out of the house? Not until they come in black patent with a kitten heel…
