There are some phrases you have to be a child of the 21st century to understand, and perhaps ‘Amazon Unbox on TiVo’ is one of them.
My grandmother would hear ‘Amazon’ and think rainforest. This toy is not for her. My mother would hear ‘Amazon’ and think online bookshop. Not bad, but she may still struggle. I’d like to offer ‘online digital and analogue entertainment forum’ as a more up-to-date description.
As for ‘Unbox on TiVo’, that would get a lot of red pen for spelling mistakes from my mother. But, as we all know, TiVo is in fact a box which sits under your TV and automatically finds and digitally records your choice of programmes every time they're on, downloads shows to your laptop or portable device, and is integrated with the internet for last minute rescheduling.
Now for the Unbox. In my 21st-century-trained mind, I guess it has to be an inbox with a difference. Turns out it's the place where the digital movies you buy or rent from Amazon arrive. Soon, by linking your TiVo and Amazon online accounts (which, naturally, any self-respecting 21st century girl already has), the movies in your Unbox will be downloadable by your broadband-connected TiVo and playable on your, er, telly.
Well, of course they will!
