A survey revealed this week that 6% of women would swap their current beau for something altogether more shiny. Diamonds? A sports car? No. A gadget. Which means more than one in 20 of you out there is either a) in a seriously unfulfilling relationship b) even more gadget loving then we give you credit for or c) just ticks alternate boxes on ridiculous survey questionnaires.
The latter notwithstanding, it's a pretty bizarre statistic - particularly when you take into account that the gadget options given were the latest iPod, a widescreen TV, a home cinema system or a fridge freezer. Nice to see they've got every woman's favourite gadget in there at the end.... And if you're beginning to feel guilt on behalf of your gender, stop right there. The same survey found that 13% of men would make the same exchange without a backwards glance.
Whether the company that commissioned the survey will be accepting men as part payment for their gadgets has yet to be determined. We'll keep you posted.
