As if having all those weblogs, moblogs and Myspaces isn't enough, we thought we should share *even more* of ourselves with the world. We've been trying out Twitter.com, which is one of those strange internet services that sounds like a ludicrous waste of time on paper, but ends up being a time thieving vortex of compulsive voyeurism. So what does it do? Basically, it lets you tell people what you're doing *right now* at this precise minute. Out shopping? Tell Twitter. Reading a book? Tell Twitter. Having a poo? Well, maybe keep that one to yourself. Not all that thrilling, you may think, unless you happen to be the kind of person who spends her days escaping from the jaws of death, performing life saving surgery and disarming dangerous criminals. But, there's something strangely compelling about checking out what people are up to, and it's amazing how even the most mundane things can be interesting.
It's also a great way of finding out what people are up to. The lovely Anna Pickard from Little Red Boat seems to have moved in permanently, which can only be a good thing (even if she does introduce us to phrases we could have lived a full and happy life without hearing).

Ah, excellent - people may follow that link, but as my updates are 'friends' only (one of the great things about twitter, it can be an open or closed community or mixture of the two) they will never know how bad exactly that phrase is.
Their imaginations will run wild - was it involving, animals, fluids, (whispers) *gadgets*?...
