CES 2007: Sennheiser's NoiseGard PXC 450 - another pair of noise cancelling headphones? Nopers!

sennheiser.jpgWhilst on the plane over to Vegas, I asked the other four Shiny members what headphones they’d recommend I purchase, and they all threw about 3 models at me each. Needless to say, I haven’t bought any yet, simply because I’m so confused over the matter, every brand touts theirs as being the best, most innovative, or noise-cancelling on the market. So when a company like Sennheiser releases new headphones named NoiseGard, you pretty much know what to expect. The NoiseGard PXC 450 has a new feature for Sennheiser, TalkThrough, which reduces ambient noise from around you, yet still allows you to talk to your neighbour without taking the ‘phones off your ears. Tiny microphones in the headphones pick up on a surrounding noise, determine what form of noise it is, and treats it accordingly. Unfortunately they’re going to be pretty pricey when launched in March, at $499.95, but due to that feature alone, they’re bound to be popular with travellers and gadget-enthusiasts alike.
