Just how big does your TV need to be? Do you remember the days when even a colour TV was something pretty special or that a portable TV was kinda cool? These days, it's all about your LCD, TFT, HD, plasma, widescreen and all those myriad other options. The one you see here is LG's 102inch TV which at the time of its production was the worlds biggest television.
So, here's the question, huge TV's the bigger the better of what? Yay or Nay and why?
Last week I asked you about Dr Kawashima's Brain Training game. Did you love the cerebral games? 75% said yay, loving the features and the puzzles.

It's all about viewing distance from the TV. The worst is when you go into some guy's house and he's got this 80 inch rear-projection TV in a room the size of a closet.
I had a friend who went all-out and setup a projector to make 100-inch screen on a wall in the basement, and set the couch about four feet back. It was like iMax or something, which is a bit intense for watching The Office.
Here are CrutchField's recommended viewing distances for HDTV (standard TVs should be smaller):
30" 3.75-6.25 feet
34" 4.25-7 feet
42" 5.25-8.75 feet
50" 6.25-10.5 feet
56" 7-11.75 feet
62" 7.75-13 feet
70" 8.75-14.75 feet
I think a 42 or 50 inch plasma fits well into the average living room. Here's a viewing distance calculator:
