I feel a bit like I imagine the guy that first brought fire into the cave did when he realised the magnitude of his discovery. I come bearing very exciting news people. I've seen the future, and it involves an awful lot of sitting on your arse. I went to go and look at the latest offering from the company Top Up TV, who reckon they've put together the ultimate on-demand TV package called Top Up TV Anytime. Basically, what you'll get is a set top box, which will play all the freeview channels you're used to. On top of that, for £9.99 a month you get the cream of the additional channels programmes. There are currently 19 channels involved, including the only one I care about - Living TV. The people at Top Up TV automatically put these things on your box, updating weekly, for you to watch in your own sweet time.

And if that's not enough, it's got a 160GB hard disc which will save 120 hours of the programmes you pick, and a twin tuner so you can watch one channel and record another. Finally, they've got together with Universal Pictures to offer something called Picture Box, which you can subscribe to for £5 a month, or order pictures as and when you want them. And just like the other stuff, it's there when you want it, rather than at set times. It's going to widely available at the beginning of next year, but if you order it from their website there's a chance you'll get it earlier. The box itself costs £180, and you can look on the website here for purchasing details.
