If you're a Sprint user (so are in the US), you can access a map, with your friends represented as dots, and plotted in the area (up to 25 miles away) in real time. There is an option to opt-out, and only those people you've exchanged numbers with will be able to see you, which should go some way to pacify the more panicky individuals. It's free til the end of this year, after which it'll be $2.99/month. Which is nothing compared to the extra money you're going to spend on 'grabbing a cup of coffee' with the friends you can now conveniently run into.
