Music may have charms to soothe a savage breast, but can the same be said of the neighbor's yippy dog who keeps we non-pet owners up on sultry summer nights? The makers of the K9 Kalmer seem to think so. Apparently this audio device, much like a dog whistle, emits a frequency that is audible to dogs but not to humans. However, unlike a dog whistle, the music coming from the Kalmer is not an irritant. Rather is hypnotizes soothes the troublesome pup into a state of "tranquility," and therefore quieter behavior. And a tranquil dog means tranquil rest for everybody, since it means we non dog-owners won't be tempted to punctuate the nightly chorus of barking with some rude barking of our own.
The K9 Kalmer is said to work at a range of 100 yards - and sells for about $80.
