There's been much talk in the "trends" industry of late (you know, those people who sit in trendy Shoreditch warehouses deciding what's cool and inventing new terms like "microripples") about the "feminisation" of the gadgets industry. And personally, I'm pretty sure it's more just about redressing the balance a little bit.
But this latest prototype from Intel really does take the cake. I had no *idea* that remote controls needed a girly makeover. But Intel apparently feels that a more lady-friendly remote is in order, and has come up with this remote control prototype (which appears to have been designed by Barbarella) to "add a touch of style and sophistication to your coffee table".
There are five colours to choose from in a variety of leather and material finishes – silver, gold, black, white and leopard print. Apparently, the leather and silver looks should appeal to men too.
It's still in the prototype phase, so don't expect to see it on sale just yet. Seriously, is it this some sort of April Fool?! I feel like someone's going to laugh and point at me as soon as I put this up on the site.
