Oh, you lucky Londoners, you get all the noisy stuff. First you got first dibs on that doubly irritating MOSQUITO alarm (irriatates the young by hurting their ears, irritates the grown-ups for proving we're they're over the hill), and now you've got a new cacophonous mobile phone theft deterrent system. If a phone equipped with the Synchronica Scream Feature is reported stolen, the personal data associated with the mobile is locked off, and the phone then emits an "embarrassing high pitched wail."
If you're curious, you can download the mobile's distressed scream as an MP3 from the Synchronica website. Although naturally, you won't want to set it as your ringtone (no matter how appropriate it might be for Halloween), lest people think you've got a stolen mobile.
