Panasonic Toughbook CF-T5 and CF-W5.

CF_W5.jpgGoing through the copious Shiny Archives (my, but we're a prolific bunch), I am surprised to learn that Panasonic's Toughbook series hasn't graced our pages before. They're launching two new laptops in this series of gear designed to withstand rough handling - especially butterfingers syndrome, a gadget's worst enemy - (I've certainly dropped one or two devices into early retirement in my time) the CF-T5 and CF-W5.

The CF-T5 and CF-W5 come with a 60 gig hard drives, 15-hour projected battery life (with minimal display brightness), and -here's the "tough" bit - the ability to tolerate100 kgs of pressure or a fall of up to 30 cm. Even the hard drive is ensconced in foam and surrounded by shock pads. But despite being a veritable tank among notebook computers, they only weigh 1260 grams & 1510 grams, respectively.
