I'm back from Japan now, but while I was there I shot this video which shows possibly my greatest moment of personal triumph. Yes, I won a toy from one of those claw games machine things. Over in Japan, you can pay for stuff using pre-pay credit loaded onto your phone - kind of like a London Oyster card or a Smart card. A smart chip embedded into phones will work with things like airport check in desks (currently available on internal flights in Japan), trains, vending machines and also this SEGA games machine. While over at the DoCoMo headquarters (DoCoMo is a service provider like Orange or Vodafone but with loads more power and control over the handset market than UK service providers) I tried out some of these technologies, so check out this quick vid and witness my proudest moment.
