The butch sounding rugged GoBook is actual quite curvy and rather lovely looking in a world where laptops are often sharp and square. It's the first notebook to carry an Intel Core-Duo 1.83 GHz processor, has a 40 or 80 GB harddrive, touch screen display, glow in the dark keys and optional backlit keyboard with Microsoft XP operating system. Whilst busily being very rugged, it's also small enough to take on adventures at 11.8x9.65x1.97 inches and has a carry handle on the front or back.
Much is made of this notebook's ruggedness (you have to roll your r's to make it sound rrreally rrrrugged) - it's water tight, resists scrub tests and bleach-water immersion, the keyboard withstands liquids and abrasive dust and dirt particles. You can even use it in the rain or during sub-zero temperatures. Security wise the hard drives are removeable and there's an optional finger print scanner and smart card instead of a password. The price may make you wince though - £2,547
