Is there anything more comforting than an animal curled up contentedly sleeping at your feet? How about an animal curled up contentedly at your feet sleeping perpetually? The FurReal Breathing Pet Cat is a toy cat whose purpose it is to simulate pet ownership by feigning sleeping and breathing with the help of a few AA batteries.
It may well give you that bit of comfort and camaraderie as you're reading by the fire - but until it sneaks off and uses your favorite pair of shoes as a litterbox when you're at the office, I don't see how it simulates real pet ownership at all.
