The press release for this CarsSafe from Widget starts with the cheerful nugget that 1.43 million cars were broken in during 2005 (mine included - they stole a CD that came free with a magazine. Technically that CD cost £80 now) but they think that the CarSafe is going to deter thieving oiks. They say it has a lightweight robust aluminium and steel construction, a patented locking mechanism and is easily big enough to hold a SatNav/ PDA or your other expensive gadgets. They do say it doesn't require tools or drilling for installation, but presumably it is attached in some way, otherwise wouldn't the thieves just take the case too? - £49.98
