There's nothing like a new bit of technology design to get me all a-froth of a Friday morning. Samsung's latest MP3 player, the K5, is doing a nice job of stimulating my interest glands thanks to its touch screen controls, FM radio receiver, and built-in speakers that slide out of the back of the unit much like a slider phone. Once out, the speakers turn the K5 into a free-standing unit and will apparently offer music without distortion, with great volume, and a "defined deep bass". You also get
Bass Sound Enhanced Earphones that come with two-part ear buds to boost sound quality.
An OLED screen that emerges from the glossy black casing shows off some snazzy looking menu graphics. It's all looking pretty slick in fact. There are 1, 2 and 4GB models available with 30 hours of playtime (6 hours in speaker mode). Pricing and release date TBC.
