It may look like someone lopped the head off an innocent robot, but the Harman Kardon Go + Play is actually a speaker set that you can pop your iPod into. It's designed so that your iPod will lie flat in the top part, which certainly looks a lot neater than the usual poking-out-the-top look. The sound is boosted by a combination of "bi-amped digital amplification", "DSP (digital sound processing)" and "Ridge and Atlas transducers" all of which probably means a lot to you musos who know about sound technology. You can control your player using the remote from up to 30ft away and it also connects via S-video to your TV if you want to watch your video clips on a bigger screen. In shops for Christmas, the Harman Kardon Go + Play will be priced around €349 (around £235).
