I can't make up my mind about this Hands-Free Umbrella, which has a shoulder holder rather than a handle. Part of me is all, "Oh, that's a clever idea," while the other half thinks, "Having an umbrella attachment would make me feel a bit like lawn furniture." My biggest confusion comes in how to close it. It must be great to have hands available to "easily carry groceries, packages, suitcases, etc." in the rain - but once you reach your destination, won't you need to put the packages down in the puddles and remove the shoulder harness (exposing yourself to the rain) before you can close it and get indoors? Or is the assumption that most people's doorways are wide enough to accomodate the entrance of a fully-opened 40" umbrella?
My real concern, however, would be that a good, strong gust of wind could lift one up like Mary Poppins; although if that did happen, at least you'd have both hands free to fiddle with your Carpet Bag of Holding.
