BenQ launches 7 megapixel C740 and 5 megapixel C540 digital cameras.

BenQ's just announced another couple new cameras, though nothing to match the might of the 10.1-megapixel C1000 we wrote about last week. This time we've got the 7-megapixel C740 and the 5-megapixel C540 digital cameras, which offer a far more sensible number of pixels for a point and click - really, who needs more than 5 megapixels in their compact? They usually can't take the strain anyway. Both have 3x optical zoom, a large 2.5-inch LTPS screen and a SMC (Super Multi-Coating) Pentax lens. They also include the usual anti-shake (known here as Shake-Free mode) and a high ISO portrait mode for clearer photos in a dark environment.
