The AL26 phone: Another Hello Kitty product from BenQ Siemens - it must be a day with the letter 'y' in it...
If there is one group of people more obsessed with Hello Kitty than the Shiny Media/Hello Kitty fanclub, it's those R&D people at BenQ Siemens. And recognising that we spend a lot of time oggling Hello Kitty merchandise on Japanese websites (seriously, a lot of time) it's no surprise whatsoever that they have launched the AL26, or the Hello Kitty phone as it will forever be known. It's a slider phone with a metallic pink finish on the front, adorned with several pictures of the low-in-distinguishing-features famous pussy herself. It also comes pre-loaded with themed wallpapers, games and ringtones. And that's about all the press release tells me. Don't expect high specs, as there's no mention of an MP3 player, a camera or anything vaguely feature related. Just a lot of talk about friendship and happiness.
