The Sony Mylo is a new handheld device that lets you do GoogleTalk, Yahoo! Messenger and Skype straight from the box. Wireless networking, a slide-out QWERTY keyboard, a 2.4-inch, 320 x 240 colour display and MP3 playback format are all on-board, as are video playback, games and 1GB of on-board Flash memory (plus Memory Stick Pro Duo cards). This is a strange beastie - not really the re-birth of the old Sony Clie PDAs, not really a phone (there's no phone connection - you'll need to make calls using Skype or similar via an internet connection), and not really a Walkman or Play Station. Still, when it launches next month we'll all get to poke at it with long sticks till we've worked out what it is. In the meantime, check out the video overleaf. Gizmodo got hold of one and videoed themselves having a good grope

It really does seem like a pointless device.
Maybe it's one for the 'kids'.
