Chumby: The Hackable Alarm Clock / Provider of Information

Hellokittychumby_1 The Chumby isn't out just yet...but when it is, I'm not sure what it is it won't do.  An alarm clock with WiFi capabilities, the Chumby can play MP3s from your library, check your email, show you your favorite news feeds or horoscopes, display your favorite Flickr photos - and all that before you get out of bed.

The beauty of the Chumby is not that it comes loaded with features, but rather that it is, in their own words, "open and hackable" allowing users to download widgets or create their own applications - and even redesign the device's housing (such as the Hello Kitty cushion version shown here).  It's a digital device that's meant to be played with.

I'll be honest with you, I've been saving for an uber cute Nabaztag...but now I'm torn.  Do I want an adorable bunny to wake me and read me my email, or do I want an alarm clock to wake me with the songs of my choice and give me the morning news?  (Actually, what I really want is Jeeves the valet to wake me in the morning and provide me with news and coffee, but I don't think technology is quite ready to make me a 19th century gentleman of leisure just yet.)
