Portable video players are the new portable DVD player. What's the difference you ask? Well, instead of carting a sheaf of DVDs with you, Archos' PVPs have 30GB of storage which can hold up to 85 movies, 130 hours of TV, 300,000 photos or 15,000 songs and view PDFs. Couple it with the optional docking station and the PVPs become digital video recorders that allow scheduled or one-touch recording straight from the TV, DVD player or Cable.
The screens are tiny at 3.5 inches for the 404 but it is only 1.5cm thick and weighs a teeny 190g. The 604 however features a 4.3 inch screen and tips the scales at 250g. As for price, you are looking at £220 for the 404, £270 for the 604 with the docking station in at £70 - available from September.

The best thing I did when I got my creative Archos was visit the BT Vision Download Store. I tried to find free videos (on google and others) but it was a pain to get it on my player and the quality was terrible.
www.downloadstore.bt.com is the easiest way to get movies on your archos video players. TRUST ME. And it is a great way to keep the kids quiet in the car.
Completely agree! Tried LoveFilms - but it didn't work. And I trust BT. www.downloadstore.bt.com is the best in the UK for online films and other content (my husband like's the Beer An Insider's Guide series).
I just hope the get a better selection soon!
