Suction car fan
My car is a bit on the old side (even thieves cruelly sniff at it) so it doesn't have air conditioning. At least, if you're in the front it's not too bad but the back seat passengers have been suffering of late, so good chauffeur that I am, I've been on the hunt for portable car fans. This one isn't that aesthetically pleasing but it does have suction cups so it sticks to the window and most smooth areas plus it has a self adhesive plate for textured surfaces. It's powered via the ciggie lighter and looks like it should do the job. £10 at Halfords.

British Eco (http://tinyurl.com/mhob3) do a solar powered car fan, which is admitedly twice the price, but which they reckon will keep your car cool even in the blazing sun while you're not in it. I would imagine it'll work for backseat passengers just as well.
