The Canon Selphy CP510 is another photo printer promising to 'free your photos' and 'liberate your memories' or some such nonsense. What it will do is print your photos. And that really is it.
Setting up the printer is easy, despite the fact that it comes with an instruction book thicker than War and Peace, due to it being translated into everything from Finnish to Klingon. When it comes to connecting the camera, Canon cameras are predictably simple, as they fit with the neat retractable Mini USB cable that emerges from inside the printer. Any other kind of camera, and you'd better hope you can find the lead it came with because this model doesn't come with any card slots at all. Nor does it come with a preview screen, so there's no adjustments you can make on the photo from the printer.
Printing time is approximately 60 seconds per photo - much faster than most other photo printers out there. On the other hand, when you buy it you only get 5 pieces of paper. Yes, five. So pick your photos carefully.
Overall, it's cute to look at, and faster than a meandering bullet. However, for the same £50 you can easily get a higher spec model so unless your love of baby blue is verging on obsessive, I'd avoid it.
