I don't do well with talking, novelty cute gadgets first thing in the morning (just as the Wallace and Gromit clock I once threw across the room when it told me for the third time it was "time for walkies"); and yet when I saw Nobby the Alarm Clock staring up from the shelf at me at my local Sharper Image this past weekend, it darn near made it into shopping bag.
It's not that I need a new alarm clock...especially an LED alarm clock with a sense of humour and a penchant for talking back; but Nobby has a feature I find fascinating (and tempting): one shuts off the alarm by throttling the chatty alien's neck. Which just about suits my mood first thing in the morning.
