Motorola launch number 1: KRZR

Moto_krzr_1_1 There's been a lot of Motorola action this week so this is the beginning of a proper in-depth look at what they've promised us. Let us begin with the KRAZR...

It seems that the most likely solution to the "what the hell do they want us to call it?" question, is that it's the Krazier. Or the Krazer. Or Kruiser. Or something. Anyway, this is the successor to the RAZR, since they've managed to shave off 1 whole centimetre to the width. At this point, I think it must resemble a piece of paper folded in half.

It's built using hardened glass, magnesium and polished chrome so expect it to be, well, shiny. The press release says it's got "velvet-like soft touch" which sounds like it might have the same strokable feel as the Motorola PEBL. Shiny and strokable?

Spec wise, it's got a music player and memory that can be expanded to 1GB, Stereo Bluetooth so you can listen sans wires (if you've got the right headphones - not provided) and a 2 megapixel camera. It's available in GSM (KRZR K1) and CDMA (KRZR K1c) versions, which Motorola tell us are the same apart from the CDMA offering touch-sensitive music controls.

No word yet on colours, so we'll wait and see if they're going to go for the pink version again, loved the world over and especially by Chantelle.  No word on pricing, but it's coming in the second half of the year.
