There's something about the pricey but nicey Canon DR-1210C that makes me feel like it's going to advance on me with intent to exterminate (yes, okay, I know exterminate is somebody else's catchphrase). In addition to all the other normal qualities of a $400 USD scanner, you can pop 35 sheets into the hopper at once and have it scan them at 12 pages per minute, 600 dpi, 24-bit colour. Includes utilities like Auto Page Size Detection, Text Orientation Recognition, and Deskew (whatever that is). Scans up to 8.5x14 pages. Purty! [GT]
