Can you hear the teen ringtone?

Comments (40)

Yay! I can hear the teen ringtone that only the kids can hear! (Remember we mentioned it a while back?) I'm down with the kids! The fact that I'm so overjoyed by this probably belies my age, but I don't care! - I'm off to hang out outside Blockbuster video with the cool crowd.

So, can you hear the young person ringtone? Are you over 20? Let me know.

I'm 29 I can hear it, its horrible.

I'm 35 and I agree that it's quite earpiercingly horrible.

I can hear it (30) and it sounds like the noise my scanner makes at work. gah! *claws at ears*

Hey, 23 and a hear it loud and clear, my dog also heard it, and ran for the hills!

OW OW OW OW I'm 38 and it's brutal.

I'm 23 and I can hear it, that would be awful as a ringtone

My cat wasn't best pleased about it either, James.

i'm just 20 ( but i though i been to so many shows i didn't think my ears worked still) and dang that is just ick. but my dog didn't even move

eaux dear, i wish you'd posted a warning about how awful that sound is!

23 and hearing it loud and clear. and painful!

25 and heard.
Though if I were teaching a class or in a movie theater I'd either not hear it or wonder what the hell it is.
But I can see people training dogs to find phones that have this ridiculous ringtone.

23 year-old who has been to too many concerts, and I can hear it.

Also have a 30 year old who can hear it too.

But would you really hear it in a classroom full of people moving about?

I heard it. It is kinda cool. I can hear that high pitched sound from teevees or other electronics in other people's houses.

I'm 36.

I think I'll make it my VM tone

I'm 19 and had to turn my speakers up all the way before I heard a tinny little noise. Not at all annoying, just like mild mic feedback, which as a performer I am used to.
Still, not a good sign for my hearing!

I'm 26 and that noise hurts.

I didn't so much hear it as felt it. I could see how it might irritate someone right out of a shop.

Nope 37 and didn't hear a thing - and nor did my dog (12 but 84 in human years so she's probably excused). My boy said (3)said he could hear a ding dong sound, but he may of been lying - I wouldn't know any better. Does that make me old and crap. Probably.

Oh for the love of monkies ow ow ow I hear it. I'm 25 and that's still painful. I had to stop it a couple seconds in.

ow. yes. this 34 yr old hears it. it's worse than the TV noise.

I'm 32 and for me it's complete silence. Last time this was around I sent it to a bunch of people. My brother (30) and my friends (mostly over 30) also heard nothing. Only a 22-year-old friend who happens to be in grad school to be an audiologist could hear it, and she explained why in great technical detail.

I'm 34, and I can hear it, and gah. It sounds like the security systems in some stores. Makes my teeth hurt.

29 and my ears are bleeding now, thanks.

My 36 year old husband couldn't hear a thing, even with the volume all the way up and the speaker to his ear.

i'm 36 and heard it clearly on one computer and note much on another comupter.

hehe, i just tried this on my mum - she just looked cranky because she couldn't hear anything and didn't know what i was going on about.

22 year old who has gone to far too many rock shows, but I can hear it. It made my eyes water and the cat in the room is still looking freaked out!

OK, so I'm 46 and about as far from being a teenager as is humanly possible (I hate those skinny bastards) and I am still hearing this loud and clear....Are these guys selling snake oil ?

Both I and my husband are 30 - I can't hear it at all but it is coming through to him loud and clear and he hates it. I have another way to torture him muhahahaha!!!!

I'm 32 and can hear something irritating! So I'm not that old then haha

turned 30 a few days ago, have constant ear infections, and I can hear it, most painfully.

46 and I hear it (not too pleasant, though).

I'll just add another comment to further confirm what a load of baloney it is. I'm 36 and yes I could hear that extremely uncomfortably high-pitched tone. I was interested to see that someone else compared it to the sound that came off a TV, because they reminded me that as a child I kicked up a fuss if my parents wanted to drag me into a Curry's or similar electrical goods retailer beause I found that noise so disturbing. I don't know if I still do, I can't remember the last time I went into one. Though I am wondering why my parents wanted to drag me into such places so often...

I'm 27 & I hear it fine! Phew Im not old :)

Now the NY Times is reporting that kids in US schools are using it in class to get around being told off for having phones - don't you just love the real-life application of technology...

I'm 36 and I can hear a high-pitched tone, but I'm sure I wouldn't be able to hear it in a place where there is other noise going on. It's very faint.

Well I heard it Ow I'm 13 btw and my stepmom who is over 40 i think didnt hear a thing while my ears were bleeding lol

ow? I don't hear aanything and I'm 18 :\

my mom ((41)) neard it but my dad ((43)) couldn't...and i [[personally]] found it horribly annoying!

Yo lo oigo perfectamente y tengo 22 años.

I can hear it. Way irritating! 45yrs old. Years of surfing, scuba and metal music.......

Must be over-hyped.

Me, 14 and my 17 year old sister were in agony but my 44 year old dad was completely at ease, tyhinking it was a joke.
