Cuddly WebCam
I don't know what I find the weirder idea. Staring into a standard camera lens in order to make 'eye contact' with your cam-pal, or looking at a stuffed toy with a funny nose. I think I'd find the little doggy version much less bizarre than the monkey. Monkeys are just too human.
These little web-cams from USB Geek allow you to feel a little more interaction with your friends, instead of staring at a faceless piece of glass. Available for $25.
You get a 640*480 pixel resolution at 15 frames per second, or should you me busting some intricate moves that require more speed, you can send 30 frames a second with a 320*240 resolution. You also get a good 1.2m of cable allowing you to actually place the little darling somewhere useful, rah.
I believe I pre-empted this idea back in 1999 when I stuck two googly eyes to my own webcam. Come on World, keep up. This is Web 2.0 you know. [Sara Wallen]
