It's truly puzzling just how rubbish most can openers are - in fact, usually the fancier they look, the more useless they are. This puzzles me for two reasons: 1) surely with all these complex design concepts out there ONE of these damn things will actually do what it's created to do? and 2) which idiot came up with such a hard to open tin in the first place? Fortunately, such is the wonder of modern science, most tins now come with those ring pull thingies, which are designed to make it far easier for you to bend your nail right back to the pink fleshy part. You know, so you're left wailing in pain and saying "I broke a nail!" while everyone else in the room silently condemns you for being a pathetic, girly wimp who only cares about her nails.
For those times when a ring pull isn't included (stop buying your food from Lidl you cheapass) this Cordless OneTouch Can Opener by Daka Designs Ltd may possibly do the job for you.
Either that, or it will end up tossed in the utensils draw along with all the other failed futuristic can openers while you prise open your soup using the tin opener bit of your Swiss Army Knife
It was originally designed for arthritic hands, so it should work without you having to administer any pressure. It'll be out in the US this month, but no pricing has been set.

I had a tin opener a bit like that once. Leaves really dangerous sharp edges on your cans which is always nice.
The one touch opener is one piece of crap. I'm 45 and bought it for my Mother-In-Law. Tried it and doesn't open anything. Didn't buy it from this site, however, after 30 minutes of trying to open a can, IT DOESN'T
The one touch opener is a one touch wonder! Not sure what other reviews are talking about. I purchased the one touch because of my arthritc hands and it works just as the commercial says...with no sharp edges, and the lid really does pop right back on, so no wasting.
Worst can opener I have ever tried. Bought it as a Christmas present for my elderly mother, who has arthritis and carpel tunnel. After about 10 minutes trying, it finally locked to the can rim and cut about 1" then stopped. Put it into reverse, went back the 1" but still would not go forward more than one inch. Tried on several cans and so did my brother. We gave up after about 30 minutes. Am taking it back for a refund if I can ever get it free from the last can, it froze, will not move or release. Horrible!
bought one of these "one touch "can openers to make life a little easier for my wife. They should be called one can can opener as it now refuses to work or indeed release the bloody can USELESS is the only description to use
yes i bought 5 of them for rellos and 2 of them have locked to a can..so far mine is still going but the other 2 just stopped and the release mechanism dont work either..put new batteries in it and made no difference still stops so i do agree some must be ok but the rest of them must be duds
