Spy Mouse
If your find your PC suddenly equipped with a shiny, new USB mouse, you might want give it a closer look before you say anything you wouldn't want heard. "Security and surveillance" company Endoacustica is selling the CP-1, an innocuous looking mouse with a built in microphone that automatically transmits while it's plugged into a powered PC.
I've got some rather strong feelings regarding personal privacy, so I find this to be an extremely creepy computer accessory. That being said, anyone who hooks one up to my computer is only likely to hear the occasional swear word when I've accidentally closed the browser window I'm working in and/or to get tinnitus from being exposed to the volumes at which I play my music. Even still, from now on mum's the word near my PC. -[Star C. Foster]

"..the occasional swear word when I've accidentally closed the browser window"?
How old-fashioned. I think you should probably be looking at downloading yourself a copy of Opera. It's got tabs (ages before Firefox got them), neat mouse gestures, and best of all, you can set it to come up with no pages, your homepages, the pages you were last viewing, or a dialog box letting you choose which one of those you want. Even if you only close one tab you didn't mean to, you can get that back easily. Oh yeah, and it's free now, and has millions of pretty skins and an integrated skin chooser.
