No longer can existing vinyl DJs sneer at those playing CDs and MP3s. No longer does the MP3 DJ have to try and look cool behind a laptop and mouse. Just load your set's MP3s onto a CDR, pop it in, and off you go.
A couple of months ago I looked at Hercules' offering, which is simply a nice toy in comparison - you still need it plugged into a laptop or PC, and it doesn't allow you the freedom to connect to a real turntable, should you wish to.
The turntable itself acts like a 'real' one, allowing scratching, it turns at 33 or 45 rpm, making DJing seamless between MP3 and vinyl, should you choose to have this beauty on one side and a vinyl turntable on the other. If you're serious about this DJ game, and should you have £700 to spare, it looks like a solid investment for the future. [Sara Wallen]
