The IT Crowd (C4) - Update

ItcrowdWell, three episodes on from my first look at The IT Crowd from Channel4, I've really warmed to the show. By far the star of the show is Moss, played by Richard Ayoade, who comes out with some brilliantly-timed, terribly geeky lines.

Apart from the odd visual reference, there aren't really any truly geeky in-jokes to satisfy my inner-nerd, but the characters have wormed their way into my funny-region and I'm definitely enjoying them. Now onto the 4th episode, they're just beginning to hint at real personalities behind each character, as well as just portraying the shallow stuff that makes you giggle.

Many of my geek-friends (okay, okay, that did include myself, yes) expected a geek-fest and are completely non-sensed by the lack of Chuck Norris and 'All Your Base' references - but The IT Crowd is slowly shaping its own version of IT-dept-reality (as Father Ted did for Catholic-Priest-reality) and is looking better and better each week.

Oh, and any of you who do work in a big office as portrayed on the show, please do reboot and check your plugs are well-seated before calling IT. It's only funny 'cos it's true... [Sara Wallen]

Catch the episode online at the IT Crowd microsite, or watch it on Channel4 proper at 9:30pm on Friday.
