Je Joue Programmable Vibrator

Image001_2Lots of people go on-line to get their grooves; but if you visit Je Joue's Pleasure Heaven, the grooves you'll be getting won't be the hip, latest tracks. Instead, you'll be downloading, well, you know,  grooves for the Je Joue sensual massager.

This non-penetrative vibrator comes with 10 grooves pre-programmed, and, with its PleasureWare software, allows users to create, edit, and share custom programs, which can last up to 30 minutes each.  Once programmed or downloaded, grooves are transferred to the Je Joue via USB.  (I'm beginning to believe you really can get anything on the Internet.)

Available from jejoue.com for £225. -[Star C. Foster]

Je Joue

Wootex_cell_case
I already have enough trouble trying to locate my mobile in the bottom of my handbag, so I'm not convinced that I need the additional burden of trying to wrestle it from its special case before the caller gets diverted to voicemail. However, the people over at Melange are convinced that sticking your cell phone into one of these Tote Le Monde cases will actually make it easier to find inside your gargantuan bag. Maybe they're right - those buckley bits certainly look like handy things to grab at. Made from 100% recycled plastic (so Hippyshopper will approve), the cases cost $12.

Pink Toolbox

Toolboxbig2Part of me (the part with no shame) likes this entirely pink tool box. There's also a pink car kit and a (slightly less incongruous) pink travel kit. I can see Cher or Elle in fluffy kitten-heels peering under the bonnet with her pink torch, trying her level best to keep her skirt at a decent height and squeaking with horror at the oil - when a handsome AA man comes up and asks soothingly if she needs any assistance...

...er, sorry. Lapsed into fantasy-land there. In real life, the AA man has a beer gut and a wry smile at your tool box which looks like it ought to include glitter and peel-offable nail varnish.

BUT! As with the Ergo Ensis S laptop, you are allowed to like and buy one of these kits - this is because 10% of any money spent at The Pink Toolbox Company will go to Breast Cancer Care. Enjoy! [Sara Wallen]

Auralnewyork_1I'm slightly amused by the extremely attractive women and the "Girlfriend/Boyfriend Friendly" tags on the Aural New York site. In particular the photo advertising the limited-edition blue buds - I have to admit I never thought of matching my audio equipment to my underwear... I'm going to feel really tacky in my white undies and black Sonies now. Sigh.

Mind you, white earphone cords are so famously linked to iPods that they scream "Mug Me!" so a pink, black or blue replacement would be a fine idea. Much more choice than the usual white or black (well ok, transparent too if you've got ears with expensive taste hearing). [Sara Wallen]

Zegari Laptop Bags

Zegari_1
She's only been with us for a couple of weeks and already our new Bag Lady blogger, Sharon, has caught on to the Shiny girls' penchant for chic laptop bags. Zegari's minimal but functional laptop bags have a slim, stylish shape and are made from top quality leather that even the most avid handbag fans will approve of. But more importantly, they're well designed for tech fans too. There are pockets for your phone, PDA and MP3 player and organiser sections for everything else (including, quite possibly, the kitchen sink). 'The Minimalist' is available in three colours for $285. [Gemma]

MickeymouseBah. I've always hated that silly squeaky-voiced cow that blighted my cartoon watching childhood (the disappointment when it wasn't Tom & Jerry come Cartoon Time!). But if you're rather partial to Walt's piping rodent you may quite like to own one of these Mickey infested Dmobo M900 phones.

No, I've never heard of Dmobo either, but they sound Delovely. This phone has a decent 1.3MP camera and 260k colour screen. You also get Mickey head buttons on the front, metallic Mickey bits stuck to the casing, and the "luxurious and soft feeling of Mickey Magic Leather" - sadly not made of the cartoon squeaker's furry hide.

The phone is currently widely available in Asia. No details of price or release date for the UK as yet.

Keyboard Table Linens

5tidytippist_big

As a gadget-lover, I fully support the blending of technology with the mundane; but I just can't get behind the Tidy Typist No. 2; a table cloth with a keyboard woven directly into the fabric.  Its lovely, lace retro design calls to mind simpler, more well-mannered times; when  dinner conversation wasn't constantly interrupted by mobile calls and SMS messages.  I say let's leave the gadgets out of the dining room.

On the other hand, it could be quite useful in (if a bit fancy for)  the office, especially for those of us who lunch at our desks and are forever sweeping out keyboard crumbs.  This keyboard, at least, is washable. -[Star C. Foster]

Wearable Panic Device

Skeeper The Skeeper protection device may look like a futuristic watch, but it is not designed to keep time.  Instead it functions as a personal alarm, contact, and tracking system for children, the infirm, and anyone else you want to keep an eye on, really.

If in need of aid, the wearer can press the alarm button to communicate with the call centre (or a pre-designated phone number), or to receive calls or messages through a web-interface.  In addition, the device can send a message if the wearer happens to wander out their approved areas.

At what price this extra peace of mind?  No word yet.  -[Star C. Foster]

Nec343ifrontfinal_1While having made a veritable truckload of phones that are very popular in the Far East (notably the still-popular N900 we mentioned ages ago), NEC have taken their time in making them available over here. Now, not only do we have the sleek N343i with i-mode at O2, but it's actually available for under £50, pay-go! Nice.

Yes, it's white-and-shiny. But I like it. Also another new phone that *really* appeals to my retro sense of fashion (I cycle into uni daily in a navy, lime green, orange and royal blue jacket - what can I say) is the Samsung P300. It looks totally-not-unlike those beautiful shiny brushed-metal calculators like my mum and dad used to use - apparently it comes with one of those lovely slip-on leather covers too. Mmm. 80s gadgets were gorgeous. [Sara Wallen]

Goodsphere6012bPersonally I'm always dubious about any product which claims to 'neutralise' odours rather than just cover them up, I've even heard a rumour that some fabric de-smellifiers actually block receptors in your nose so you literally couldn't smell any stench that's there!

This GoodSphere actually sounds feasible however - it pulls in air from the room and bubbles it through a bowl you've filled with water and aromatic essences. Impurities in the air stick to the water as the bubbles escape, letting out cleaner air with a hint of whichever frangrance you choose. So effective, that in a room where someone is smoking, it says the water will turn a muddy brown. That'd put a few people off the nasty habit! Also effective as an ioniser and a humidifier. Zicplay iPod remote control

ZicplayHopefully grab a better pic in a minute, but you should just about be able to make out the lines of a Zicplay Tuneview, the first remote control to display iPod's digital menu on an LCD screen. What this means is that you'll be able to control your iPod and see the full menu from afar. Stick it on its dock, hook it up to your stereo, and you can control the music player from the comfort of your sofa. It's being launched at the CeBit show in Hanover, Germany this March. It'll be available exclusively from KeySpan.

WashDryIron

Washdryiron_1 When I was  23, I would lug my clothing down to the laundrette and  shove as many articles of clothing into one machine as possible (regardless of fabric type or colour) in order to save myself time and quarters.  And you can best believe those clothes rarely saw an iron. 23-year old Oliver Blackwell, on the other hand, has gone and invented a machine that will wash, dry and iron your clothes in a series of separate compartments.  I daresay he's much more dapper than I.

The WashDryIron, said to eliminate shrinking and colour runs, will be on display at the Ideal Home Show in March. If picked up by a major manufacturer (and my laundry hopes it will be) Blackwell expects it will retail for between £800 and £900. - [Star C. Foster]

ShoZu: Moblogging made easy

Shozu2Got a moblog yet? No? Well, you're not alone - according to the guys at MoblogUK it's something like 70-30 in favour of the boys when it comes to moblogs. This doesn't quite make sense to me - I know full well that the ladies are using their phones to take snaps, I've posed for enough of the damn things whilst half cut in The Nags Head. If you're one of those snap happy females, it might be time to start putting those photographic masterpieces onto the web for all the world to admire.

ShoZu is a great bit of free software that can help you out. It will send your photos straight to your favoured online gallery (Flickr, Text America, etc) and also send photos to your friends as an email. But because everything is sent as data, rather than MMS or email, it should save you a good few pennies. Plus, it's a lot less hassle.

...so that you can't hear yourself ThinkInside! Brilliant!

Apparently this is the speaker system which isn't going to leave you having to compromise between portability and sound output. It delivers over 40 watts of total system power, has long cords that let you place the satellites far apart for real stereo, and even lets you connect to your mobile phones with a 2.5mm adaptor (pssst, you can get these from Maplins at about £1!). The IT Crowd (C4) - Update

ItcrowdWell, three episodes on from my first look at The IT Crowd from Channel4, I've really warmed to the show. By far the star of the show is Moss, played by Richard Ayoade, who comes out with some brilliantly-timed, terribly geeky lines.

Apart from the odd visual reference, there aren't really any truly geeky in-jokes to satisfy my inner-nerd, but the characters have wormed their way into my funny-region and I'm definitely enjoying them. Now onto the 4th episode, they're just beginning to hint at real personalities behind each character, as well as just portraying the shallow stuff that makes you giggle.

Bust Doctor

Bustdoctor

There are many solutions for gravity's inevitable affect on our breasts: targeted exercise, supportive undergarments, plastic surgery and, apparently, the Bust Doctor.

Looking like what passes for a breastplate for female warriors in the online gaming universe, the Bust Doctor will allegedly vibrate your breasts into shape when applied for fifteen minutes each day.

Is it effective?  I don't know.  But at $35 dollars it is definitely cheaper than plastic surgery (and most supportive undergarments), and I bet it's equally uncomfortable.  Still, I'll stick with the good, old-fashioned underwire, myself.  This thing scares the bejesus out of me. - [Star C. 3GSM 2006: Motorola launches budget W220

W220Motorola's keeping things nice and simple with this budget handset. The W220 has similar slimline aesthetics to the RAZR range, but with a more no-frills outlook. There's not much to talk about in terms of features, although it does include an FM Stereo radio. Apart from that, this is a pretty basic clamshell that will be with us in the third quarter of 2006.

Pink Ergo Ensis S Laptop

Genesis_pink_3a Yup, this is purely a normal laptop with a pink lid. Your first reaction might be "Sigh, don't insult us women with the assumption that we're bound to like it if it is pink."

But - you like it don't you? I do. I like it more because I know something you don't yet know - that nearly £60 from each purchase of these laptops will go to Genesis, who are dedicated to building Europe's first Breast Cancer Prevention Centre in the UK.

So it's not just pink to be girly, it's also pink to signify breast-cancer awareness. See, now you don't feel so bad for liking it, do you? [Sara Wallen]

Ittusb_overviewI'm rather ashamed to admit that the only vinyl I ever owned was a limited-edition Take That single with free pop-up calendar. Back in the day when they were more gay icons than teen sensations. Sigh.

Should I ever want their dulcet tones on my computer or mp3 player (not that I haven't already copied over all three of their albums), this would come in very handy! Not only can you plug it into any HiFi with a line-in, CD or AUX inputs - you can connect it to your PC with USB and it'll do the copying job for you, even at high-speed!
