I dread to think what one of these fuzzy Ultrasuede laptops would look like after a few months of use. Aside from the unappealing greasy patches from where your hands have been resting, there's bound to be a smattering of foodstuffs and a couple of bald patches before the first week of ownership is out. Still, there's something appealing about a computer with soft, suedey bits littered about the place, giving you a tactile finish that will leave you wanting to constantly paw at your portable companion. Intel and Toray Ultrasuede have joined forces to create the new "ultrafashionable" concept laptop PCs. They feature "ultra micro-fibre Ultrasuede fabric integrated directly into the casing of Intel Centrino mobile technology-based laptop PCs". Entirely unpractical, possibly a little unsettling, but strangely appealing nevertheless. Someone hand me that carpet samples book and some superglue.
