We've had the clamshell, we've had the candybar, it seems only right we should get the slider Hello Kitty phone now. This OKWAP A236 mobile isn't actually being launched in the US or UK, but some enterprising citizen has got hold of a few to sell to grateful Kitty-fanciers outside of Japan. The handset not only comes with an excellent HK carry case thing, it also has a Kitty charm that doubles as a screen cleaner (how my life has been running successfully without one of these things is now a mystery to me). But that's not the half of it. The phone also apparently has handwriting recognition and a stylus pen.
Reader, Xiaoxi, emailed to tell us about it, saying "there are some downsides to the phone as well - no Bluetooth, battery life is pretty short, sometimes the reception can be a little bad and screen resolution isn't the best out there. (I have the OKWAP Hello Kitty phone that was out last year - the i516 - and those are some of the downsides that I've experienced with my phone. But this one looks much improved". It'll cost you around £225 or $395 on eBay.
